Search around a little and you'll find it, it's on Petsmart's website, or google "caribsea" or "nature's ocean". I'm thinking about black sand too--would be very nice looking I think, but not sure if it will go with my stand and everything so still thinkin'. I also really liked some sand I saw in Florida that looked like sugar but it's hard to tell from online photos if anything is just like that.

I was also wondering if I can just go out to the beach
and grab a bucket full of sand. I do live about 5 mins
from the closest beach ;)

I used black sand for a while in a nano, and it started to look pretty bad once lighter colored debris started to settle on top of it and mix into it.

I have black sand from Petsmart and it looks good. Some fragments of the live rock are beginning to become scattered on top of it as the trigger chomps at the rock, but it still looks cool. It's actually more of a dark grey rather than jet black, and it's a nice change of appearance if you have several tanks set up.

Tahiti black sand is very nice. You have to keep it clean, but it really brings out the color in the fish with moon lights.

I'm thinking about going with black LS with the 135g and also paint the back glass black. I hope someone posts some pics of the aquascape with black sand :)

2 things for the answer to be no...probably illegal, you have to check collection laws. Also there would be way too much pollution in that sand.

I have red sand in one of my tanks and it is doing good so far... It has been running for 2 months.
