Check the archives in the disease forum. Tangs can get white spots...ick, and black spots...another form of ick. Quarantine the fish and treat like white spot. Can be very contagious.

It could definitely be black ich. If so, DO NOT treat like white spot. Black ich needs to be treated in formalin baths.
I have moved your post to the disease and treatment forum. Check out the two posts at the very top and take a look at black ich.

Sorry, I should not have said that. I just researched black ich and yes it is definately different from white ich. I'm glad the thread got moved you should get some help here in the disease forum. I'm sorry for the wrong advice.
Thank you lion crazz for beating me to the correct information.

Definatly sounds like a common case of black ich. Black ich is not as large as white ich, and much much less distructive. It will look like someone dusted the fish in really really fine black powder. The best way to treat is with a quarintine tank, and formalin. After the first bath ich may appear to be gone, but I reccommend keeping them in the QT for the full 4-6 treatments to allow the ich to die off in your tank (fast lifecycle than white ich), and to be sure it's completely off your fish so you wont have to do this again...anytime soon.
