I just noticed these black spots on my fire shrimp yesterday. Tank is fowlr: 2 percs, fire shrimp, cleaner shrimp, bta, 4 mexican turbo snails, 1 nass snail, and 4 blue leg hermits. All water parameters are good: amm=0 ites=0 ates=10 ph=8.2 specific gravity=1.024. i havent noticed anything on the cleaner shrimp yet. My fire shrimp just molted a week ago, and everything else is doing fine. The fire shrimp eats shrimp pellets from time to time.i also saw it picking something off of the live rock and then it seemed like it was spitting it right back out. Are the black spots the boring parasite? sorry if it seems like i am rambling. any help is appreciated.

There are a few conditions that cause Black Spots. If they are still there, and in the same location the next time the Shrimp Molts then it's probably a parasitic fungus. There is nothing you can do to help it and the condition is fatal
Just enjoy the Shrimp while it's here. These parasites are rarely contagious so I don't think you have to worry about the other shrimp.
Let's hope the Spots disappear after the next molt :)
