black stringy thing hangin off snail

theres a black nasty stringy thing hangin off one of my snails..
is this poop? or is the snail dying?

Looks like green algea to me. Maybe he ran through a patch of it and it just stuck to him. Do you have green algea in your tank?

yea. it looked black before, but once i posted the pic, u can see green in it.. lol
i got green hair algae that im tryin to clear up with some chaeto..
