black tang

my lfs has had what they call a "black tang" for quite some time now. it looks no different in body shape to a yellow tang and is obviously all black(he's also 450 dollars). i am trying to put together a wish list for my cycling 75(although $450 is a little steep to start). i was just curious if this is a normal price for one, and what they are like to care for?
thanks

they are expensive and not for a rookie - you don't want to make a $450.oo investment and put that in a new tank - you will not be happy.
give your tank a year before dropping that kind of cash on a fish.
BTW - I will never pay more than $50.00 for a fish - they're are just too many animals that intrigue me without forcing me to

my house.

Just the fact that you are considering spending $450 on a fish makes me think your tank is going to be awsome someday!
Just wait a few months.
Did I say few?
I ment several.

They are no different than yellow tangs except of the fact that they're black! No different care requirements, the same in all aspects! All of the ones I've seen/sold are from the Christmas Islands! $450 seems a bit overpriced though, do look at some of the online retailers, I've seen them for as low as $179 but no lower!
