I'd like to hear anyone's thoughts on them and anyone’s experiences with them. When my 300g is finished, (in about 2 months) I'm planning on picking one up. Before you jump the gun, I'm not stupid, yes it will outgrow this size tank. I will move it into something at least triple this size in 2 years..I have big dreams.. ;)
Take Care,
Mike
By the way, I am new when it comes to posting but I've been around. Wonderful forum with some wonderful information from knowledgeable ppl!! Hopefully I can eventually add to this success with hands on experience of my own.

Black tips are not a good choice for a 300g. Even newborns would be too big for it. A 1000g is the minimum(they produce lots of waste and swim nonstop). And as adults you'll want a tank at least 20+ feet long, 8ft wide, and 4ft high which work out to about 5000 gallons, and thats cutting it close. A circular pond would even be better for them.

Just wondering what you do for a living because I am 17 and I was just wondering how you can afford a 300 gallon tank.

I work at Centrastate Hospital, in Food Service, I serve patients and wash dish's, making $9.85 an hour + .85 cents if I work nights. My paychecks are about $800. And they should be even better because I'm working a lot of doubles this summer.
And you guys are right, I'm probably going to save my money another couple months and get a larger tank.
