Mine doesn't look like that, it is all bubbles. So hard to describe! I have a pic of it on another thread but I can't seem to get it here (my neice put it in for me in the first place). The thread is "help I've been given an anemone and don't know what to do" (didn't get any responses).
If you have to get a digital camera to post pics so as to get answers then does that count as SWA expenses?

What do you feed anemones, my LTA and BTA are doing fine good brownish color, my carpet is much brighter. Never feed any of them. Should i feed the carpet something?

What lighting system are you running? Carpets need more light than BTAs and LTAs. You can feed them meaty foods like mysis shrimp, krill, silversides, etc.

i am going to up an image of the ritteri. it looks pale. do you have a picture of a healthy ritteri to compare?

This was a bleached anemone that I got from the LFS for a steal. I wish I had taken a before picture but here it is after 4 weeks. The tank gets DTs phytoplankton and the anemone gets very tiny pieces of homemade fishfood (ground shrimp, fish, any other raw seafood on hand, a few drops of coralvite, & just enough RO/DI water to make a paste).
At the LFS it was completely white & transparent bud had the bubble tips. As you can see here it has gotten most of it's color back.

the very ill rbta i've mentioned has shrunk quite a bit, making feeding it that much more difficult. did you get the discout because it was bleached? i guess i wouldn't have such luck, my lfs regarded his bleached bta's as rare white anemones!

Snailheave, mine has changed similar to yours as far as the tentacles have lost some pigment. I'm looking through some old pics and you can see a difference, but the anemone has grown quite a bit since I got it so I just don't know what to think as far as it's overall condition.
Going to add another 250watts very slowly to see if anything changes.

yep, one LFS in my area realizes that BTAs are not supposed to be white. His store is the only one I will buy livestock from.
