I've been thinking for awhile of making my own fish food, and have confiscated a few jumbo shrimp and scallops for that purpose. I have been feeding flake(spirulina) in the morning and mysis at night. Well, as of this morning I have no more flake. My dog obviously didn't appreciate waiting for her breakfast while I took my shower so she polished off the spirulina. This is on top of the other flake she got yesterday and the dried cyclopeeze she finished last weekend. And yes, I had moved it all away from the shelf it was on, but she's very good at retreiving edible materials from high places.
So, since I've got to go to the store anyway I might as well plan for making my own food.
Here is what I already have:
Shrimp
Scallops
Cubes of:
Mysis shrimp
Blood worms
Squid
Brine shrimp
"ocean plankton" - fish don't really like it, I think it has a gel binder in it...
Trying to decide what if any "veggies" I should add. Spirulina? Nori? I also have spirulina discs I use to feed a freshwater pleco - maybe that would work?
Will probably get more Cyclo-peeze (frozen this time)
Is there anything in the above list you would recommend I NOT add? Or anything additional I should be considering?
I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on this.
