I live in CA and I go to this beach thats has boats and boats loads of large 1/2 - 1 inch long Amphipods (they are the same Amphipods we see in our tanks) and if you dig a few inches deep where its moist you will see large Amphipods and was wondering if its a good idea to get a ton and bring them home and blend them up a bit so they can be small and then freeze it and then turn off the power heads then unfreeze the blended up Amphipods and feed it to a Mandarinfish or Scooter Blenny. Dos anyone think that will work?

in most cases, no, i dont think so. mandarins are very happy spending their days roaming the rocks to pick live prey off with their specialized eyes/ mouth. so i think unless it is already accepting frozen foods then i would not try it.

on the risk of introducing pollution to your tank i would reccomend against dumping anything from the shoreline into your tank.

The shoreline is one of the most poluted areas in a bay/ocean, everything that washes or blows in is concentrated there. I would not try it.
