Blessed event ?

I found a 'new' feather duster in my tank. It is small, but is colored identical to one I purchased about 6 weeks ago. The one I purchase had roamed around the tank a bit due to the water circulation, but now is anchored in the substrate.
Question is, do feather dusters procreate in captivity, and if so by what means ????

I normally do searches before asking.... this time I did it in reverse, but as usual, found my answer...
My guess is that a segment came off the worm (probably one of my critters attacked the poor thing) and it basically asexually reproduced.....
