I had it for nearly 4 years thru 2 tanks and was wondering if anyone knows how long they should live. Its allways been secretive and just now found it out front laying on its side.
My water test fine and all other inverts = Stars, Skunk Shrinps, Snails, Crabs, T.M. Clam, fish, and corals are good.
Theres been know changes in temps. or S.G.
There was no signs of injuries or desease and it was out feeding earlier today.

I had one for about 3 years and it also mysteriously died. Everything else in my tank was doing great, along with my cleaner shrimp. I just attributed it to old age...who knows how old it was when I bought it.

i have always read that 2-3 year was the norm for a fire/blood shrimp. sounds like you had a old fart there dogstar. when picking a shrimp you always want to find the smallest one you can to insure you have him as long as possible due to there short life.

Yep thats what Im finding too. I got it very small and had two. About 1 year ago one just disapeared and I figured something ate or killed it. But now Im hoping it was just old too.
I quess my 2 skunks arent too far behind cause I got them the same time. Ill miss the old guy. Thanks all.
