blue alge

i just got my fixh tank from my friend and he said that it has blue alge is that bad?

Did you see it, does it look like a mat of soft velvet stuff? Probably a form of cyno only not the Red but the blue/green kind.
Check phosphates, nitrates. Are you using tap water?
Run Carbon now.

no i am useing salt water

And do you purchase this saltwater or do you mix it yourself.

What is your water source? Tap, RO,or Distilled?
Tap water or well water could have nutrients or metals that could be causing your algea.

i am useing salt water that has sat for 3 days and mixed salt

it might be Y-branched algae, have seen it in blue but it mostly comes in green.
