yes, but in my experience, they will pick on the weakest member of the school until it dies, then they move on to the next weakest.
It probably has a lot to do with the size of your tank. I had 4 in a 75 gal. and now I have 2 that seem to get along.

I'm not sure. I know chromis are supposed to be docile, but I had two in my 75 and the one was a terror, constantly picking on the other one. I had to seperate them.
