Blue and hairy shrooms for pods

Hi Reefers,
I have lots of blue mushrooms fragged and ready to go. I have 3 hairys that will be ready in a week or so. The 3 first pics are the ones that are in another large soap dish in my tank. This was taken without the flash. I have another shot of them on a rock which shows their true color.
I have a male mandarin who only eats pods. I have been getting some pods to reproduce in my tank with an idea I got on this site using cheatomorpha in a soap dish. I started culturing pods in a 1 gallon gold fish bowl a few days ago. My tank is 110 with plenty of rock but I just want to give him all I can. I was thinking of setting up a little plastic bowl in the tank on the gravel bed and throwing gravel into the bowl. I want to put the pods I get from here or when I go through the cheato again in the bowl. I am hoping to get a small container maybe 2-3 ozs. with pods from someone who has them multiplying like crazy in their fuge.

hi tiberius, i have 10 gal thats been up and runnin ( also a 75 ) for about 8 month..that is loaded with pods of various sizes and types.. pic included..i'd be willing to send you some pods for blue mushrooms..if interested plz email me luv2snuggwithu@yahoo.com..

I am still looking for someone to send me copepods for my blue mushrooms. I have 1 hairy left but it will be another 2-3 weeks before he is heeled. I sent out 5 blues to vtfishies but I have not received the pods yet. Who knows, I might get them Thursday but I do have more blues to ship out for some pods. I am currently culturing them and it has only been 3 weeks. Don't really know how long it will be before they start multiplying.
Last resort is to order $79.00 worth of livestock and buy the pods here.

well, how can i catch these pods, i have millions in my 75 gallon, they are all over the glass and lr, like crazy, i don't even have a fuge.........
i am interested, but don't know how to bag um

I don't want to mess up a deal for Drea's pods (or maybe this is how Drea could get some pods for you). BUT what I did to get pods in my tank was to buy some of the crud, junk, small pieces of rubble from the bottom of the lfs Live Rock holding tank. Just get a pound or so of this stuff and it should work for you.

How long have you had your set up? How often do you feed the tank? I am just trying to get them to produce more in my main tank. I bought the soap dish and stuck it on the glass and filled it with cheatomorpha. I started feeding my main tank with Cyclopeeze 2-3 times a day.
As for getting them out you can buy a sponge and wipe the glass gently. I read that somewhere. Or, you can take out some of the rock and put it in a bucket with a little bit of water and sprinkle the rock with tank water. The last one I did when I was moving my tank and I noticed when I took the rock out of the bucket after watering it down every half hour that I had lots of pods in the bucket. Let me know if you can get them either way. I have never searched on how to take the pods out of a culturing tank.
Let me know how it goes and how many you think you have. I still have a bunch of blues left and 1 hairy that is still recuperating.

I suppose that could work if the places I go didn't have their live rock tanks always full. I don't think they would want to empty all those pieces out in buckets just so I can get at the little stuff and pay just $15.00! I suppose if I ever hit a store that has a little bit of rock in their tank then I will ask. That would be a great way to get them. I also have been siphoning my gravel bed and going through the debris and pulling the pods out with an eye dropper. To think I was throwing these pods out all the time when I cleaned my bed and never really gave it any thought. Plus, I found that they like to grow in the hair algae. I used to see them in the bowl of algae and I would pull out the ones on top. But, this last time I had to pull some out that were near some corals and went through that and got all of them. I am leaving the hair algae in the back on the bottom growing since they breed in it.
If you want to trade some of your pods for blue of hairy shrooms let me know.

goodness, every time i change my carbon and phosphate bags, i have to pull off usually 10-20 pods off of them. hit me up with an email, when i transfer my old fuge to the new fuge, i'll see what i can get you. either that, or i can send you some chaeto that is full of them--i gotta trim that as well.

Well between Renogaw, Scotts, Drea and Vtfishies, I do hope that next Wed. I will receive pods!!! They in turn, will have beautiful blues glowing in their tank!

My tank has been set up fro 2 yrs.. i feed photoplytan every other day and feed flakes or meaty foods the other days.... They are all over the frkn place!! I have no idea how they multilyed like this at all....... but i can take a pic... once again i have no fuge. i ahve like 80-90 lbs of L|R zoos, shrooms, and xenia, feather dusters.... i just don't know if i send you these i'm sure they will multiplyno probelm...

i would really love to get a manderin in my tank now
