Thanks. I wouldn't say the pics could be in a book, but I really appreciate the complement.
I have seen pictures on here that are unbelievable.
I have three clowns. The mated pair I have had for about five years. I had the mated pair and the anemone in a 30 gallon then I had a 15 gallon with two little clowns. I lost one of the clowns in the 15 gallon tank due to my cat, about a month later I upgraded to a 55 gallon thinking I would put all of them in at the same time so the wouldn't fight. They did all right at first, the pair didn't want anything to do with the little clown but they left him alone for the most part. Then a few days later the little clown was slowly going in and out of the anemone which I have had for over a year and the mated pair didn't want anything to do with it until they saw the little clown in it and then they suddenly wanted the anemone. They kicked the little clown out of the anemone and really beat him up anytime he got near it. A couple weeks later they started laying eggs. They let him in anemone now, he just doesn't get to close to them. I think knows his place.
I just had eggs hatch last night I didn't get this batch. She will lay more either tomorrow or the next day. That has been her schedule ever since the first batch. I will take lots of pics.
I did try and remove the eggs one time but it really stressed them out and me too! They would not stop biting my hand so I gave up.
I know when there going to hatch now by looking at them. They start hatching usually eight days after she lays them. On the night of day eight I turn off the pumps and 1to 2 hours after the tank lights go out they are hatching. I take a pen light or flash light and have a bucket and point the light toward the bowl I have in the tank and amazingly they swim in there like mad. The first night I did that it took a long time but now it only takes about half hour and I have all the fry without stressing me or the clowns out.
I have not had any survive for more then six days, that is because I'm trying to raise them without live food, which is possible (or so I have read it is possible) but very hard. Also you have to do water changes at least twice a day. I will attach some pics just as soon as I take them. Soon.
