I have a 50B and I want some blue in the tank, I was thinking chromis' but I thought they did better in multiples and I dont want to overload the tank(would I if I put 3 in?).
My other option was the sunrise dottyback, much smaller fish, but deffinetly less blue in it.
Please share any expeirences with either!
Thanks!

Go with the Dotti. The chromis do best in larger schools. They are not innocent fish by any means. They have a tendency to kill each other off. They live by a hierarchy system. The strongest is the leader, the weakest gets picked on.

Chromis are evil little

[hr]
which should be banned from sale.
I bought 10 of them to add some blue to my 90 Gal tank because everyone said they were peaceful. They were right up until they started offing each other and my little NASO Tang which was doing just fine until they were introduced.
IMO...... Avoid them at all costs.

Well, they are not THAT bad. They will not be the terror of your system, but they are damsels. They are fine in the right system, and in the right numbers.

I agree. I was exaggerating a little. But they can be a pain.

The problem is that no one defines what the right numbers are. 6, 8, 10, 200? All of the sites just say yeah, you need a bunch of these and I have not seen one site which states, "HEY, Its possible these things might start offing each other when the lights go out".
I was just frustrated, because I lost a a few fish while they were in there and none Before or Since. Oh well, live and learn, but I will never buy any of them again.

Right, that is because no school are alike. People have two or three without them fighting, it isn't the norm, but it happens. There are no definitive answers on this one. Groups of eight or more are best. Expect a few to be voted off of the hierarchy list and die. Others will stick together and pick off other fish. They are very tricky to describe.

I see, well the chromis are off the list, lol. Espesially in my small tank!
Anyone have any expeirence with the dottyback? Or anything else with alot of blue in it, excluding the tilefish(to big), or catelina goby(needs to be cold water).

problem with dotty's are they aren't all that invert friendly...
i personally have a yellowtailed damsel (last fish in) and it is fine and beautiful. the funny thing is, IT is getting picked on...
