How many are needed in a group that will make it big enough so they don't kill eachother. I have heard that 3 is not enough, what about 5?

I think to go with 5 or 7 they love to be in groups.

I started with 8. I now have 3. They each have staked out an area of my 125 and no longer school.
When I had 8 the pattern went something like:
School, chase each other, school, chase each other, school, chase each other, chase each other, chase each other, chase each other, chase each other - now there are 3 with an uneasy truce.
