Just added a blue head wrasse to my tank... Today we noticed his eye looks slightly swollen & blue like a puffer's eyes. Any idea what this is, should I be concerned??

OK- is it pop eye?? Trying to figure this out, any ideas? He seems healthy otherwise, swimming around & eating fine. Also- he is in a tank by himself, so no other fish have hurt him. HELP!

Hard to say without a pic. But, It does sound like pop eye. Ecspecially since you said the fish was added recently. Was a net used to catch the fish? If so ,it probably is pop eye. I know my LFS has a big plastic scoop so as not to "scratch" the eye as easily.

I goofed today- bought him today from my LFS- he had just gotten there, still in the delivery bag. LFS said that it was fine to take him today, although I read that fish should be at the LFS for a couple of weeks before purchase, I took him home anyway. So- no, he didn't get scooped by the net. Any other ideas??

They are netted by the distributor, many distributors anyway. Add vitamins to his food. If it gets worse than he may need treatment. It should go away by itself though.

I think it is pop eye after looking at those pics, except my guy isn't as swollen as many of those fish. I will add vitamins to his food. I am an amature, can you be more specific about what type of vitamins. Thanks!
