Ok i went to 2 lfs and one said that a blue hippo tang(tiny) can be held in a 29 biocube, but then the other one said it needs to be in a big tank...all i want is the correct answer!

Even a tiny blue hippo shouldn't go into a 29g tank.
Adults need 125g or larger, so even if you had something slightly bigger than what you have, it wouldn't be able to stay in there long term.
If I were you, I'd never go back to the one that told you it could go into the 29g, and probably be a regular customer at the other.

while yes a 2 inch hippo may fit in a nano, in a very short time it will be longer then the tank. They need a 6 ft tank for swimming. It would also stress them out so bad that they would have ich in a week.
So no a hippo will not go in a nano tank

The general rule of thumb is that Tangs need at least 6 feet in length of swimming room. A lot of people say it is ok to get a tiny one and upgrade to a bigger tank when the Tang gets bigger, but I really don't think many people end up upgrading even though intentions are good. They get stressed out in small tanks. Just my $.02

They also grow very fast... so its not like it will be 2" for a year. In 8 monhts they can out grow that tank easy.

That's a good sign you've found a trust-worthy LFS. Like I said before, I'd stay away from the other one and be a regular at this one...

yea i am going to say i have to agree with you! Just wanted to ask everyone i put up another thread asking some questions on wat fish, coral, ect. to put in my tank. I made a list on the stuff that caught my eye, but don't know if it is compatible with eachother so any advice would sure help!
By the way this thread i put up is in the nano discussion...
