Hi Everyone, I Need Help On My Blue Tang. I Bought It Two Days Ago, Its Looks Like Its Doing Fine. It Swims Around The Tank, The Only Bad Thing Is That Its Not Eating. I Put Krill, Frozen Shrimp, And Some Regular Food For Color Enhancing Called Spectra. What Can I Feed This Tang, Or Would It Take A While To Eat. On The Spectra It Tried To Eat It But Then It Throws It Away.

Have you tried regular flakes, brine, mysis and sea weed or algae sheets? I'd recommend that you QT your tang or the rest of fish may very well come down with ick.

Tangs are herbivores. Go to the local grocery store and buy some Nori sheets, in the Oritental food section. Make sure there are no preservatives. Get a seaweed clip from the fish store and hang a pc. in the tank. Should eat this. Also try some Spirulina flake food. I has only been two days, give it a little time.It should come around. You could also try some adding some garlic to the above food choices.

these fish sometimes won't notice nori as a food when you put it in the tank at the start. try formula 2 flake from ocean nutrition. also mysis shrimp will get them to eat and if that doesn't work brine will certainly unless there is something wrong with the fish.

I Went To The Store Already And Bought Some Mysis, He Ate Only Like One Or Two Little Pieces. Also Bought Some Flake Food For Algae Eaters, But It Didn't Eat It. I Notice He Started Scratching, Hopefully It Doesn't Turn Into Something Big. Maybe Like Getting Ick Or Something Different. Hopefully It Gets Better. Maybe It Would Need A Couple Of Days For The Fish To Get Used To The Water.

Tear your algea sheets into a 2"x2" sqaure. Cut some fresh garlic and rub it on the sheet. Get as much juice as you can. Then fold sheet and rubberband it to a small piece of live rock and add it to tank. It thinks it is algea growing on rock and more likely to eat it. They seem to like the red the best.
