Blue Hippo Tang picking at my shark

Last night during my feeding my shark came out as normal looking for food and i noticed one of her eyes looked a little beat up. So i reached in and picked her up to get a better look and im almost 100% sure she is now blind in that eye. I also noticed a few cuts along her side and her dorsal fin is split and small pieces of it are missing.
After i let her go and feed her my blue hippo tang came over and started brushing up against the shark and then she bit the shark right in the bad eye and a few more times down her side.
Anyone ever seen this type of behavior from a hippo tang?

Never heard of that behavior but wouldn't be suprised. Tangs are a risky canidate for sharks/rays, but usualy not too many people have had problems with them. I'd move your tang ASAP to another tank or take it back to a lfs.

I have had this tang for over a year and there is no way the wife is gonna let me get rid of it. Its the only fish she picked out "her fish". And i dont have a tank that either of these fish would be happy in for very long.
Anyone interested in a bamboo shark with a bad eye?

Ok well if you're going to get rid of the shark, I'd post this on SRC. Also get some eggcrate and divide the two fish.

yeah - best bet - remove the tang - ASAP. Other wise your likely to end up with a dead shark.
Also you'll likely need to treat the shark with antibotics - to prevent possible infections of the skin. But it's very likely you wouldn't be able to save it's injuried eye.

Treat the Sharks fins with Povidone iodine, apply it with a que-tip, this will protect it from any possible infections and will allow it to properly heal.

my friend has a shark......he told me that they were blind like eels....don't know if this is true or not as i have not read a whole lot about them......but if it is true i don't see what good the eye would do for her anyway....
