Is a 65g (3foot) too small for a Blue Hippo? The fish will be housed with a few other fish but none get any bigger than 4-5inches. I have heard that the blue hippo generally only get about 6inches long in captavity. Opinions and experience would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the quick replies. I had a feeling that is what the answer would be, but thought I would ask because I heard that they only get around 6in in captivity. Thanks Again.

they need a 125.
why do you all bother... wouldn't you rather have some small fish you can keep all their lives, watch them completely grow, and learn to know their personalities, and get used to them without havin to switch fish around every couple months...

no we would like to own and enjoy the fish for the year or so before he gets to big than trade . tell me if you have children do you plan on keeping them your whole life or are you going to set them out when they get big and enjoy another stage in there life. maybe you should never have them? because you dont keep them in your house there entire life....

thats was a stupid analogy... i'm sorry... but that was a pathedic attempt to prove me wrong... if you're going to TRY to prove me wrong, at least try a lil harder next time.
your analogy is off because my children will leave by choice... your fish has no choice and will probably die from getting rid of it and stress.
do you have a dog? do you plan on getting rid of it once its not a puppy anymore?... yea... you lose.
if you have an urge to use children in an anology i will give you an analogy that actually makes sense...
thats like your parents keeping you in your crib till you're 5, then getting rid of you because you don't fit anymore... once again... you lose..

its okay to buy a fish like blue hippo tang that is small right now ONLY IF YOU PLAN TO UPGRADE THE TANK IN THE NEAR FUTURE (like with a year).

yea... thats fine... but why buy a fish to trade it when it grows cause you want it anyways even tho you know its to big for your tank.

Thanks for the advice guys. I guess I will pass on the tangs till I get a bigger tank. I would like to say this though. I have not been on this forum long and am already sick of reading people argue about tangs.. It's not as bad in a post that asks about a tang, but when I am looking around on other threads and anytime someone mentions having a tang atleast 3-4 ppl chime in and complain about the tang, and either don't answer the original question, or barely touch on it you are not really helping anything. People are going to do things that you would advise against. Different strokes for different folks.
All you can do is give advice and if people choose not to follow it then that is on them. You could atleast give advice on what they for advice on though. Instead of going straight for the throat on the tang thing. Just my .02 ***)
