Will a 1/2'' blue hippo tang or smaller be fine a 36 gallon until june or july?

Juvi hippo's have a very poor survival rate so i believe you are in a catch 22 situation. A juvi may not last that time frame and your tank is way too small to house a larger one. My suggestion would be to wait for the larger tank as i assume that is what you are planning on? Hippos are easy to find and as this is a hobby of patience then i am sure you can live without one untill then.

Yeah you should wait to get one until you have a permanent home for them. If your planning on having it for a while then transferring it to another tank, its going to be a pain catching it, you'd probably have to take out all the rocks to get it out. Just a warning, they're hard to catch!
