blue hippo

I haven't gotten a hippo yet, I'm trying to find one where I live. Right now the fish stores aren't able to get them. But I don't have other tangs in my tank. What type of live rock would you suggest. Do you know where I can find a 2"+ tang at. In Illinois I haven't seen one any bigger than that. How much would a 2"+ cost?

Where in Illinois are you? Blue hippos usually run from 39.00 to 49.00. I also live in Illinois and was just at my LFS who had 6 blue hippos. four of them were probably 4 to 6 inches and were 49.99 a piece.

Coz Diver I live in Bloomington, Illinois. A 2" Hippo cost around 35 here. I've been looking for over a month and haven't found one! :notsure:

Hey guys im also from central illinois, manito to be exact. Where do u guys go for fish and that? at one fish store in pekin they usually have one blue hippo probably close to 2in.

RYKAC--- Yes! Pekin is about 40 min. away from me. What is the name of the fish store in Pekin? Do you know the size they usually come? I'm getting feddback telling me to get a 2"+ hippo.

The name is Fishin Times. I know they had some smaller ones the last time i went, but i have seen larger approx 2" ones there before. The best place that I have found is Aquatic Environments. It is located in Davenport, Iowa. I was there this last weekend and they had 7 or 8 blue hippos ranging from about two inches to about 6 or 7 inches. The place has a very large selection of coral, fish and live rock.
