Blue leg hermit crabs

I might be getting some blue leg hermit crabs(3-4) and I'm thinking how many empty shells should I get for them to change if the grow bigger.

I'd get 10 or so of different sizes that are slightly larger than their current ones. They aren't very picky. I was in Bonaire a week ago and we found a hermit using a piece of PVC pipe as a home.
