how long did you acclimate for, stars should have long acclimation times of over 3 hours.
linckias should have a tank size of 100+, with no less than 150+ pounds of live rock. the tank should be over a year old.
if you or your lfs didn't acclimate the star correctly they will go into shock and die.

We need to know:
-How long have you had this star?
-How did you acclimate it?
-For how long did you acclimate it?
-What are your water parameters?
-What fish do you have in the tank?
-How large is the tank?

one more thing... oils from your skin can be deadly to linckia's so they should never be touched by humans. Have you been touching the star w/ur hands???

Whoa sorry just got back from work i have a 46 bow so this could be the reason and i never touched it with my hands and i did acclimation for 3+ hours i can only think that the lfs did not acclimat it right because of how short of a time i have had it so it could not have starved in that little time and also this might be stupid but can i cut off the legs that are doing this
Thank You All For Your Help

What is your SG? I am sorry to tell you that this star is not well suited for your tank even if he does pull through. They need 100+lbs of very mature live rock. They will not accept prepared foods. They require acclimation of 4-5+hrs of slow drip method.

unfortunately, this star will not make it. They are so sensitive to Sg changes that in the wild, they can die off ,if there is a lot of rain in a short period of time.Others have already told you that this star is not suited for your tank to begin with and they are right. Your star is suffering from osmatic shock, which believe it or not can take up to 30 days to show up. It could have been fromthe LFS but also from your SG level. I have had a blue linkia for about a year and a half now. I have a very established 210 gal tank. I keep my SG at 1 .027 at all times and I did a 7+ hour drip acclimation.Sorry to say that there is nothing that can be done now.

Sadly, I agree.
