I picked up a piece of liverock from my LFS and the guy hooked me up with it. $20 for a cured piece that has a patch of small blue mushroom corals. Of course, their survival is not gauranteed, but it's still cool to get them for "free"!
These are my first corals to keep, I'd say the biggest one of the group is about 3/8 inches tall with a 1/4 inch diameter head. After putting it into my tank, they all seemed to straight right out and angle towards the light, which I assume is a good sign! They were sitting in an unlite tank for who knows how long. (it was unlit due to several very large pieces being given to the fish guy with A LOT of algae growing on them.)
Is there anything special I need to do with these corals? I have an 8g biocube w/ a koralia nano powerhead. The light rating is about 4.5watts per gallon, so I'm assuming that's more than plenty for them to thrive. Any and all input and info would be helpful! Thank you!
