blue mushrooms

I know this may sound like a dumb question but..... are blue mushrooms blue or purple when they are closed up?

When they close, the underside can appear as a purple-brown color.

depends on your lighting imo

well I have metal halides. So lighting is not a problem. Its just they havent opened since I bought them and they look kinda purple. The lfs person said that they were blue, and charged me like they were blue, so I am waiting. Ill get a pic and post it.

What color did they look in the store before you bought them? Here's a pic of my blue shrooms. They were as blue as they could be before i put them in my tank. Lighting makes a big difference. Give them time to settle in, but if they still don't look the way you want you could try moving them to a more shaded spot. Mine look bluer in the shade.

well when they shrink the more blue they get but when they are fully expanded the more purple they look i have a few that are almost the size of my hand!!

Sometime's mine are blue, sometimes they're purple. I agree with the lighting theory.

Mine do the same thing.
They look very blue at times, but then at other times they appear purple.

it also can be if there wild are tank raised shrooms like mine are tank raised under vho lights...
