Now that Blu-Ray has won the format war, I'm thinking of picking up a player (when the price drops a bit more) and the first DVD(s) I'll be getting is the boxset of Planet Earth on Blu-ray.

When buying my new TV system last week, I bought a Blu-Ray player. The next day some friends kids where here and said"Why didn't you get a PS3???... So back to Circuit City I went and came back with the PS3 instead of the regular player. Wow what a picture!!! It is like being there watching shows on it! Now all I need is to learn how to be a kid again. What games should a 56 year old reformed kid get for it??

My brother in law has one too and just the picture/graphics for loading up games or movies blew me away. I was instantly jealous of his 56" LCD 1080p TV and PS3.

I've watched IMAX Coral Reef Adventure. The video is incredible. Unfortunately, there's a bit too much global warming talk for my tastes. Some of the sound effects (xenia making popping noises) was a bit over the top too.
I would agree that for the most part, the Video is incredible, but there are some weird sounds included......But the film is marketed to the masses, not dedicated reefers....Also Johnny Depp's voice is a little odd for the film IMO

Haha, yeah, I saw that one a month or so ago and would have preferred if they kept with strict narration.

So there's really no piano playing footstep sounds when Mantis Shrimp scurry about the ocean floor? Oh man, I've been so misled!! LOL
I have to concur, I could do without the vairous sound effects. I was especially impressed with the crushing sounds made as the urchin was being eaten, and the octopus was feeding. With all that going on, how could you hear the whales & dolphins?
There are also a couple of really good shows on the Great Barrier Reef. I've seen them on-line, but never caught them on TV....

well i watch it everytime its on. and it seems like they add new things every time its on? i might be insane but i watched it again last night (the coral episode) and there were shrimp fighting a starfish and ive seen that episode before and i dont rememebr that.
