I have purchased a blue ribbon eel and can not get him to eat. I have tried live, frozen, and dehydrated foods and he doesn't seem interested. does anyone have any ideas what to get him to eat.....

Unfortunately the news is not good.
These fish have a horrible failure rate for survival!
My suggestion is take him back to the store and exchange him, seriously.
It is amazing that stores sell these guys and they really shouldn't be available to the aquarium trade.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but in 15 years of SWF, I have never seen one that lasted.

Wellcome to the board.
I agree with moby.
Try live mollies or gupies and if it starts eating them then might try silversides and krill on a stick. Dont get your hopes up.

The best choice would be to take him back if possible. If you have your heart set on keeping him your best bet is to put him into a small aquarium like a 10-20 gallon. Put several live mollies and ghost shrimp in there to try to get him to start eating. Eels can fast for a long period so this can take several days to weeks if he even starts eating. If he starts eating for a good periond of time you should then be able to move him to a main tank.

By the way even people who are successful at getting them to feed only are able to keep them alive for a year or two.
