first off ask yourself why they are giveing it to you for free. but here is what i got The Rhinomuraena quaesita grows up to 45 inches. The Blue Ribbon Eel prefers a tank of at least 60 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. The Rhinomuraena quaesita is a carnivore and likes to eat meaty treats (like live feeder, fiddler crabs, small fish & grass shrimp). The Blue Ribbon Eel is a high maintenance fish and may act peacefully toward other fish. Not reef-safe. Needs plenty of places to hide (substrate). PVC pipe may help. Will peak out of tank. Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F). The Blue Ribbon Eel is commonly collected from the Indian Ocean. i will try to find you some more info.

ribbon eels are one of the hardest species to keep in captivity they require a minimum tank size of 55 when small i do beleive(i could be mistaken) .its the feeding that is the issue with these eels more then 95% of these eels die of starvation in captivity.this species at adult size reaches up to 4.264 ft so the bigger tank i would say the better

from reading this above infomation to get this eel to feed properly you will need to purchase live marine species feeder fish such as very small damsels ect.do not feed your marine fish fw species as they do not contain the same nutrients needed to sustain health in sw species. if you cannot or do not want to go to such extremes for feeding measures for this species i do not suggest getting him.please research this eel well before jumping into a death sentance for him..unfortunatly his fate was already sealed with its capture.this is one of those species that should be left in the wild
