Blue Spotted Kole Tang

Hi all,
I just got a very small (2-3") blue spotted kole tang. Does anyone have a picture of theirs? I know they are not as common as the yellow eyed kole, but wondering what he will look like when grown up some. He is in quarantine and very scared right now. He is entirely brown/black, but at the store he was chocolate brown with blue spots. Very pretty.

Don't have a pic, but we get them in from time to time. Whatever you do, don't put an LMB or starry blenny with it..they hate them. My guess is the competition for algae. Good luck, how about posting a pic of yours?

Now I am concerned. I have a LMB in the display that is doing good. The other fish seem to leave him alone. Do you have experience with them going after LMB's? (more than one fish ) I know that all fish have their own querks. I can't get a picture of him yet. He is still very shy, hides a lot. When he settles down some, I will post one. I sure would hate to put him in there and he harrasses the LMB. My tank is very peaceful. (now)

Yes, unfortunately I do. I kept an LMB{for many years
] and added a Tomini tang[same genus] . My boss at the same time kept an LMB with her blue spot Kole. Both of our tangs harassed the LMB's until they died. Then she tried a starry blenny & I tried an orange spot blenny..and the same thing happened. Neither fish harrassed any other, only the algae eating fish. I hope it turns out different for you if you try it, you should know pretty quick after adding him. If he does, don't think he will stop. But of course, all fish are different, and you may luck out. Let's hope so. I really miss my LMB, he was the best fish ever. I gave the tang away to someone with a nice big tank, and no blenny.

I guess I have committed myself to this tang. I have wanted one for along time. I have a lot of rockwork, but if he torments the LMB I would never be able to get him out in time.

That really surprises me about the kole, they seem so even tempered. I don't like making sacrificial lambs out of someone, but I really like the kole. I sure do hope everything goes well. Thanks for the heads up.

Will a yellow tang harass a lawnmower? I have a yellow tang and a lawnmower in QT right now and they seem to be doing fine, but it would be horrible if later on the tang started to pick on the lawnmower.
