Blue starfish lost leg

My blue star had a small cut on one of his legs. The cut grew larger and larger and today his leg fell off. I've heard stars can grow legs back. Anyone have this happen before or heard of it?

I've heard that blues can disolve and half of them don't make it. Take it back for an exchange if you can. Not sure if legs grow back!?!?

is your star a blue linkia the linkias are 1 species known to lose legs and regrow them. also the legs that they loose generally regrow into new stars

i have heard of them doing this. also check your salinity and your ph often .. this sometimes contribute to loss of limbs.. i had a choclate chip do the same thing.. his leg did finally grow back, but right after that he did died , but i think with the process my tank got really screwed up from him losing his leg and thats what got him in the end.. but keep a check on you tank reading closely.. good luck
