I've had my blue tang for about a week now and it just developed visible ich today. AAARRG!! It has been eating extreemely well, is very energetic, and has donea good job at decreasing some hair algae growing on my live rock. It is so swift that I can't catch it befor it dives into the numerous caves of live rock. Do I have much to worry about? I hope that it resolves to be a healthy fish. Can anyone help?

You have now discovered one of the best reasons to have a Quarantine tank! If the fish worsens, you may have no other options other than to dismantle the entire tank to catch the fish.
Some fish are able to develop a limited immunity to ich but this will not eradicate the infection. However, I would not trust a tang to do this as they are very prone to this parasite.
The only reliable treatments for ich are hyposalinity and copper.
