Blue tang problem

i have a blue tang i just got yesterday and now her eyes is white and her tail looks alittle beat up but when i got her she had nothing on her. And all i have is a clown and a cleaner wrasse. Anyone can tell me y she would have got this so fast?

Sounds like it may be getting ich. Are the eyes puffed at all? Is there an aggressive fish in the tank nipping at fins?

what are your parameters?
How did you acclimate and for how long?
lights?

and i only have a normal clown and a cleaner wrasse

Well, seemingly none of those would be the problem then. I assume you dont have ammonia but do you test for it?
Has the tang eaten for you? was it eating at the store?
Did it look bad at all when you got it and has just gotten worse or was it completely fine when you got it?
Does it have any white spots yet or is it rubbing against the rocks?

If her eyes are white, her tail is frayed, yet you only have two fish that wouldn't seem to pick, then I would look for a parasite. Take a magnifying glass and look closely at her body, gills, and fins. Let us know if you see any white spots or other abnormalities. Also, what do you mean by a "normal" clown? What breed of clown do you have? Clowns (in general) can be territorial. Do not rule out agression.

she has no ick. she was eatin at the store i got her from they had her 4 2 weeks before i got it. the clown is a ocellaris clown. no i didn't test 4 ammonia. all my corals and other 2 fish are doin fine just her not doin good.

Can you set up a quarantine tank for her? You ALWAYS have to test for ammonia. That is the most toxic out of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. If her body looks fine but it is just the tail, and it wasn't there before, then I would hazzard a guess that the clown is nipping. Don't be shocked, they all do it, especially to new guys. The white eyes has me concerned though. What are you feeding the tang? The eyes wouldn't turn white in a day though. Did they net the fish? That will do it, especially if she flipped over in the net. Both eyes would have received damage.

i went and bought a ammonia test today and it was at 0. i feed her live brine today and she came out and ate alot then she just went back in the hole that she been in since i got her.

It looks like a little bit of popeye. Did they net the fish? It sounds as though she is willing to eat. Feed her better foods than brine. Pick up some formula foods such as formula 2 and Angel formula. Both of these foods contain a variety of meats and plants. They are much healthier for her. Pick up some liquid vitamines to add to her food, this will boost her immune system and help her heal faster.

That tail issue looks like aggression to me. I suggest that you observe closely your fish tank when your fish are not noticing your presence to see who the aggressor may be. My bet would be the clownfish. You may have to remove this fish, or the aggressor.
In the meantime, use food soaked in fresh garlic. The procedure is here.

Bottled garlic, especially garlic Xtreme is only a flavor additive. It has none of the benefits of fresh garlic. It takes ten minutes to crush some fresh, it can be stored in the refrigerator for future use.

It is VERY healthy for them. It boots their immune syatem. Look in the Common Treatments FAQ for information about the health benefits of garlic.
