Blue Throat Trigger for Reef

What are everyone's thoughts on adding a Blue Throat Trigger to a 90 gal reef tank? Will it get along with corals, inverts, etc. Will this fish get to big for the tank? etc.?
Thanks,
Jeff

Blue throats are considered to be one of the more reef safe triggers. I wouild'nt call them 100% safe, I would say with caution. I also would not put one in a 90.

yes and they have been known to pick off ornamental shrimp

Most triggers will eat any invert. Urchin is part of their natural diet, so don't trust them with those or starfish. I would not consider any trigger completely reef safe.

Can I please get a comment from someone who has had a Blue Throat Trigger? I am looking for one more really showey fish to finish off my tank. BTW...it is 90 gal. Is this big enough?
I want to stay away from Tangs.

For what it's worth, unbeknowst to you, you have recieved comments from a couple LFS owners. I'd personally take their comments over someone who has had experience with 1 specimen.

I was thinking about getting one for my 125, some people said even that wouldnt be big enough, so I deffinatly wouldnt put one in a 90. They are known to go after smaller shrimp, but never heard of them eating crabs or snails. They get 9" full grown, so it would be a monster in a 4 foot tank.

I have kept blue throats in a reef no problem, and know others who have as well. Of coarse I had already been keeping fish for a while, and this was the last fish added, all inverts etc already in the tank.I am not recomending this, just saying it is possible with the right conditions. The 90 is probably a bit small anyways.
What other fish do you have? I can think of several fish that would be a much better choice.

I have had my tank up for about 6 months. It is 90 gal with about four inches of live sand and 100 lbs of live rock. About a 35 gal refugium with a skimmer in the sump.
I have the following stock.
Flame Angle
Neon Dottyback
Flame Hawk
Blackcap Basslet
Blue Stripe Clownfish
Neon damselfish (our first fish)
In addition to fish I have
A green Carpet anemone.
Cleaner shrimp
Sand Sifting Starfish
Snail/Hermit Crabs.
I have several different corals
I am trying to decide on a couple of showy fish to finish off my stock list. I have heard of so many people having trouble with tangs that I believe I want to stay away from them.
I really like my flame angle. I would like to get another angle, but of course, I do not want them to kill each other.
Any suggestion for a couple of really cool fish that are reef safe?
Thanks,
Jeff

I would look into the fairy wrasse's as well. Several that would be a good choice for smaller tanks, and stay fairly small. Solar wrasse, exquisite, and flahsers.
I would also recomend getting rid of the damsel. Long run they'll cause more trouble than they are worth.

I probably will end up adding a Wrasse.
Are there any angelfish that will get along with my flame angel?
