blue v. white lunar link moon lights

anyone have any preference on the differences of color? i am going to be buying moon lights soon and i can't decide which color would be better. i have saw blue lights before and they look nice. anyone have any experience with the white ones?

I am looking to get moon lights myself. I prefer the white though over the blue. It's all about what you like.

i have never actually viewed a tank with the whites in them. i have saw plenty of blues. does anyone have a picture that they can post of the whites?

i have an orbit 48" 65 x 4 with lunar.. not sure what color they are.. if its blue then its a real light blue.. i love em.. makes for a nice wave pattern at the bottom of the tank and ALL critters come out with em on.. and the fish sleep.

Ya, i think it was said, its pretty much personal preference.... Blue tends to look cooler, disturb the fishies/critters less, but you cant really see the true colors of everything. White gives true colors but if they are too bright you dont really the the "moon" effect that your going for.

how about regular LEDs v. wide angle LEDs? any thoughts here? the LunarTracker has wide angle LEDs and i guess requires less numbers of lights per tank.

Honestly, if you put them high enough in the canopy you wont be able to tell the difference. I guess go with the wide angle if you really want to put them within like 6" of the surface. You will need one for about every 8" - 1' of tank.

I will post my tank with my white luners tonight for you all..... I have a both in my Sunpod unit.... it comes with both! I will post some blues and some whites.... sorry ahead of time if you can see with them!!!!

wow jerth.. u got all the little toys huh? lol wheres the red moon light? then u could be a true american!

after seeing the blue, i know mine are considered white, lol.. and i like the white better, looks more natural to me.. except i believe the light turns blue-ish as it passes thru the water at a certain depth anyways....

Last of all with the Actinics.... Not a Moon light...... but I just wanted to show you how much brighter it was than the moons..... The moons keep it pretty dimly lit, but you can see fine in there!!!!

i believe the actinics are just a supplement light.. not a moon light though.. too bright for that.. i use em as a dawn/dusk effect.. have em on for an hour b4 the 10000k's come on for dawn, and stay on an hour later then the 10000k's for dusk.. makes a great transition thru the day for the fish.. although i doubt they really care, lol.. my clowns keep swimming around until the actinics turn off, then shoot straight to their sleeping spot..

I know they are not a moon light....lol

.... not really a total noob..... :hilarious .... I just wanted to show the diffrence that the lighting makes..... The diffrence between white, blue, and the way brighter Actinics!!! Mine are on before and after the MH's....
