Blue Zoanthids

I bought some psuedo rare blue zoas yesterday, and I was reading online that they often times like less light and will turn brown in higher lighting. I have a very small tank with lots of light (6 gallons/54 watts), and I was wondering if you guys thought they should be placed down low or hidden a bit? Any ideas or experience with them?

Really depends on the type of blue. I got some Keds Blues that turned brown no matter what I did. Also depends a lot on the type of lighting and k rating. They do tend to like lower light, so try in the bottom of the tank and keep an eye on the color. I've actually given up on blue zoo's just to much of a pain to keep colored up

if you have enough to frag them, why not try one up high and one down low. you'll have a good chance of getting some nice color out of one of them.

I have these tubs at the bottom of my 210 w/250 10K's and they have grown from 15 polyps to what you see now in 4 mths.
:cheer: :jumping:

It's all trial and error as to where you will get the most productive growth from these animals.

I've also read that they do better in cooler temps (around 77-78) Anyone know about this theory? My tank was about 81 so I lowered it down to 79 and it seems my firecrackers and bubblegums are growing like weeds? Anyway those are some sexy blues!
