I was looking at a price list and the Hawaii is double the proce of the regular. It just doesnt make any sense to me then.

i dont know anything at all about this species of trigger, but normally when they list the origin of a species in front of the species it is because there is some sort of color variance in the fish from that locality.

Was one male and the other female? If not then you have me stumped, maybe the ones from Hawaii look better. Like harlequin tusk's from Australia, not completely sure:notsure:

Well I think there is some color variation with the Hawaii version. I was looking aorund at different pictures and the version from Hawaii has yellow on the fins and tail. That must be it.

Male bluejaws have defined yellow borders on dorsal and anal fins also deep blue on cheeks, female blue jaws have brown accent lines on fins, little to no blue on cheeks.
whewn you first get these fish they end to be shy and reclusive, give them hidey holes and let them feel at home first. It took almost a month before my bluejaw would come out when i was around
I thought bluejaws came from the pacific, so if there is a price difference its becuz one ws collected closer and some father away.

Thanks for the info I was looking for. Purchased here a female BJ Triggerfish, 3 inch. Been in hiding for 3 days since introduced into her new home. Can only get a glimpse of the yellow tail. At least I know it is alive.
Anyone, how do I know that she is eating and healthy when she is hiding like this? Behind the rocks in a cave. Thanks. wolfie
