I do heavy weights at low reps. I was pretty amazed how much weight I started working out with in what seems to be a really short time.
Deadlifts are good... but only for a couple spots in the body.. gotta do lots of other exercises :)
The exercises I find to help the most in each area I train in are:
Chest: Floor flys
Back: Deadlift & pullups
Abs: reverse sit-up
Shoulders: Overhead dumbell lift
Legs: Squats & lunges
Arms... hmm.. all my arm exercises are good :)
Literally the most important part to exercising is the nutritional part. I stress how important eating correctly is!

Why in the world would you tell people that taking anabolic steroids is the only way to get big? This is not true at all and there are a lot of people who see huge results by eating a diet rich in protein (whey supplements) and by having a solid workout routine. There are a lot of kids that are on this forum and I think it’s a bad idea to suggest to them or anyone else that steroids are the only way to go if you are serious about bodybuilding. Check out this site http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bbmainnut.htm it has a lot of great information on supplements, nutrition and exercises.

Yeah, if you call mood swings, shriveled testicles and bad skin no risk!!!!!

I'm not going to attend this UFC as I'm not interested in seeing liddel win...but I can't wait for Wandelei / Chuck fight...
Shonie just cracks me up. Trainin in his speedo and stuff. One of the guy was like Shonie don't you have anything else to wear then he's like nope ha ha. He's just a funny guy. I love to see chuck fight so I'm definately excited about this weekend. I also can't wait for the Wandelei and Chuck fight. It's gonna be nuts. When he said that on stage last fight I was stoked and will be till its over. Who do you think will win that one? My buddy love Chuck but is sayin Wandelei all the way.
I so hope Andrei and Sylvia rematch. The last fight it seemed like both of them were to scared to get knocked out. Sylvia pisses me off. He's so big that nobody can hit him and I'd say a good portion of the time he gets hit in the face he gets rocked. That's just my opinion from what I've seen.

This is the deal man. I'm having my 3rd surgery on Sept 14th. I've been runnin 2 miles 3 days a week which equals out to about 20 min each run. I hate to run by the way lol. After my surgery I'd like to bulk up a little to build some muscle around my shoulder so that I don't keep having these problems. If I can get some muscle built up around it then I shouldn't have any more dislocating problems. So either way I'm going to push myself even if it hurts. This is the only way I can see me getting it fixed.
I'd like to be cut but also be big. I like the muscle defintion as much as I do being big. I just need to get some type of routine going. I have a buddy who goes to the gym 6 days a week. I'm going to see about gettin a gym membership after my surgery and going with him.

Sure, tell someone to eat lots of protein and develop kindney stones...going the anabolic way isn't bad...but it does need to be done properly.

Thats not at all true...this can be the case, but done properly there the risk is minimal.

Wand will tear up chuck...I don't think chuck has ever has ever fought anyone with his level of intensity....as for the maniac...tim has a decent chin...he proved he was a bad mf when mir snapped his arm and he didn't flinch...the funny thing is there are several heavyweights in PRIDE that would tear him up.. Barnett, Mirko, Emelianko...it wouldnt even be a fight.

I guess I just feel that Sylvia is soft. If you watch his last fight with Arlovski he doesn't initiate a punch for the first 2 or 3 rounds he just waits for that counter. I guess I just don't like him so I pick him apart lol. So Chuck will get tore up huh. I've only watched some of Wandelei's stuff not a whole lot so I'm not sure how he fights. Poor Chuck might get handled.

OK, you may have had some decent results and havent had any health problems YET from doing steroids, but it is just plain irresponsible of you to be advocating them to someone who is just starting to work out.

Wow.. I am just totally going to have to go against everything you wrote :p
Firstly.. Silva will lose to Chuck guarnteed. Silva really isnt that spectacular at all. I am kinda wondering about the Chuck/Renato fight though.. I think Babalu has much more of a shot than people are thinking.
Silvia has a horrible chin. He has gotten hit really good like twice.. and both times he went down.. he didnt get ko'ed but he was rocked. Other than that people just have a wicked hard time hitting that giant. The reason that Silvia didnt flinch when he got his arm broken is just simply because he didnt feel it. He didnt hit a nerve when it broke so he didnt feel any pain. I had the same break when I was a kid and I stood up.. looked at my arm which was dangling.. and was like.. wow wtf just happend?? I didnt feel any pain in it at all.
Barnett was in UFC for a while.. and I liked seeing him fight.. but I think his last fight was to Pedro Rizzo... and you can guess how that ended up :) :) :)
I watch pride sometimes and I am never really impressed by many of their fighters. Like 3 guys really are dangerous and i'd love to see them fight some of the ufc top guys.

Aww.. I love running :) I havent ran at all since I started bulking.. it rips me apart inside :( lol
When you start doing your shoulders I can tell you lots of stuff I do for my shoulders and they all rock. I think my shoulders are one of the stronger muscles on my body. I can do a lot of weight on some shoulder exercises where bigger "stronger" guys cant do it... although I cant bench worth #&@!% which ticks me off.. lol

You my friend are nuts!!! Saying Silva isn't spectacular is like saying Michael Jordan was average...Babalu is one of the better submission fighters, but I think his stand up leaves a lot to be desired....If you have ever been around Tim you'd know the guy is just crazy...his arm hurt, even if it didn't hit a nerve, when he was beating it against the top of the octogon that, that would have struck something....Barnett was barred by nevada because he tested positive for roids...he was young, that was back in feb '01....keep in mind he has sins over Dan Severn, Gan McGee, Semmy Schilt, Randy Couture, Yuki Kondo, Cro cop, and Emelianenko, and finally mark Hunt.....He's only 28 , I would put him up against anyone in the UFC...here is my opinion
HW: Pride is better. UFC has a few world class HW's but prides HW roster is just deeper.
205: Pride is a little better. their roster at 205 is slightly deeper.
185: UFC by a long shot. There's no comp here. UFC takes it hands down
170: pride doesnt have a 170 weight class... so obviously this goes to the UFC
155(160): pride just because UFC dumped all there light weights and pride picked up most of the ones worth anything. but the ufc is building that division back up quickly
and we'll see BJ Penn's return against Hughes since GSP is out.

UFC's lightweights are pretty sharp. I always liked Eves Edwards even though he is on a losing streak now.. Joe Stevenson.. Melvin Gullard.. Sean Sherk.. etc etc.. there are some really tough lightweights.

WEC also has some good looking talent, Doug Marshall, and even Brad Imes(from TUF) is looking better...not many people know, but after his loss on TUF on fight night, his mom has a massive Corinary and died...talk about a bad night, lose your mom and a 100,000 in one night.

so anybody catch the fights? That Kongo guy looked pretty scary. For the first few I was calling the fights just as I thought they were gonna happen.. but Bonnar let me down and my 'winning steak' started to go down the crapper :(

Its not going to happen...people are so sick of it they won't pay for it...I read an article and dana white said its not going to happen....they a saying maybe a liddel/ortiz fight for November...if the silva thing doesn't work out.
edit: I thought you were refering to a pay-per view. I see that they did announce a free SpikeTV fight.

NO2 and other nitric oxide products can give some people great results. NO2 is the original and the best, but yes it can get expensive. $65 for a 21 day supply, if you have a GNC gold card. btw, GNC is the only place besides MRI (the comp that makes NO2) that you can legally buy NO2, CE2, or N3O. be careful, i've seen other sites selling NO2 for cheap, but upon further investigation they were selling 2nd generation, and it was and is on the 4th gen. by that time, so those bottles were at least a couple years outdated.
you should only consume 35-40 grams of protein at a time, that's really all your body can handle. digestive enzymes (papaya) will help your body break down protein.
if you use creatine, i'd suggest trying a creatine ethyl ester HCl, it's not as hard on your body and doesn't give you that bloated look. you'll also need to drink LOTS of water.
and you should always take a GOOD multivitamin. not like the cheap stuff at walmart that's made for 5 year olds and contains indigestable ingredients.
lastly i'd find someone who knows what they are talking about. and who knows other people who have benefited or not from certain supplements. so talking to one person who only has their opinion to go off of is not always going to give you the best information. no offense to anybody on here or anything. and shop somewhere that has a guarantee on their products, so you don't waste a bunch of money and be stuck with stuff that doesn't work.
that's just my 2 cents. i gotta go to class, ttyl!
