boiling water didn't work...

I did the boiling water in a surenge right on top of them (but didn't get my toadstool) It didn't work. They are growing on the underside of a shell. I was thinking of taking it out and just scraping them off(there's only 3), then rinsing the shell. The only thing with that is my toadstool has attatched to the shell and I don't know how long my toadstool could be out of the water while I did this.
Any suggestions?

Peppermint Shrimp will only do it if they are not being fed. i have found that the peppermint shrimp tend to not do thier job if they are getting free food from me.
However, if they are only on a shell, then I would take the shell out. The Leather coral can be out of the water for five or so minutes. I would coat the shell with kalkawasser paste, joe's juice or just take an old tooth brush and really scrub that shell good. Then rinse the coral and shell in some saltwater and replace in main tank.

I think I will try the toothbrush, because it's the only thing I have at the house right now. If that doesn't work, I'm going the the LFS on Sat. and I will pick up some joes juice.
Thanks, and yes, I am talking about aiptasia!!

They sure are pesky little buggers aren't they!! I took a blade and scraped them off, then scrubbed the shell with the toothbrush and I guess I didn't get all of them!!
And there were only 3! I don't want to stress my toadstool too much so I'll give it a couple days, then get that last little bugger!!!
