what book or books would you recommend for a nubee. I know I read the answer somewhere but can't find it. I know this is asked all the time, so i apologize in advance.

Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Robert Fenner is an excellent book. Any questions you have feel free to ask though. We are here to help!!!

That book would be my first recomendation.
Second choice; Reef Invertebrates by Calfo and Fenner
Good book for fish references; Marine Fishes link

I agree both books are excellent reads and informational to start. Then when you get to the point of actually buying fish "Marine Fishes 500+ essential to know aquarium Species" and companion Marine Invertebrates make good references.
