Oh I see! They're not good enough for your tank.....blah blah blah.
BTW the ng's have now sprouted more babies. I told you zoas grow like crazy in my tank. The jokers have went from 7 polyps to 20!

Ugh...Sometimes the stress that our tanks put us through seems to make one think that it's not worth it.
I was half tempted to tear down both of my tanks today. I am still really irritated at this point.
Trying to find the corals "happy spot"/ permanent place is driving me crazy!! I am suprised to find how easy it would be to tear them down, and get rid of the headache!!!

Well, since I cant seem to post a new thread, I guess I will ask my question here. I am still looking at tearing down my two tanks, but I am currently looking at a 150 and 180g tank. It will be a reef, so my question refers to the lighting. I am looking at the marineland pro 3-150w 14000k with 8-39w actinic and 6 led. OR the outer orbit 3x250w 10000k with 8x 39w t5ho and 24 lunar lights. Does anyone think these will be ok or would you recommend a different combo. Thanks :)

get 3 250w lumenbright reflectors with radium bulbs. then add 4 strips of current powerbrite led's and youll be golden

Well, I guess that would be good on both. Was wondering if 400w would be better on the 150g. See the 150g is 29 deep whereas the 180g is 24. And I really want something simple that I dont have to rewire my house or anything. I dont know much about metal halides at all. But I really liked the marineland marine pro with the timers for each hqi, t5, leds. and oh yeah the built in ballast, so just plug in and your good. Only its 150watt :( But with all the other companies out there coming out with new stuff.......I dunno. This will be my final tank build and the only one I will keep...so I wanna do this right from the get go.

i see the benefits of having a fixture with everything, but like you said you wanna get it right from the beginning. you would have control over which ballast and which reflectors youre using. i would say that 250 would be good enough overall. you could just place lower light corals on the bottom part
