Well, the little b/w clown is doing good. Finally got him to start eating mysis. He is just too cute. He is saying, "Seriously, how many times are you gonna point that camera at me?" lolol

New tailspot blenny. Pic is a little blurry cause he is so small. He is a little scared of me still, and get's stressed quite easily (you can tell by the white splotches).

Thank you. He seems to be very healthy, and he eats anything I add to the tank lol. He will go into the 180 very soon. :)

Ok, question for the lighting pros out there. I was thinking about changing the t-5's on this little nano to leds. I was planning on buying the ecoxotic par 38 led lamp. It comes in 20k, or 12k, or 455 blue. Would one 20k be enough for a 10g nano? Or would I have to get two? I like the look of 20k, more blue. But the12k may be better for coral. The 20k has 3 royal blue and 2 white cree leds. The 12k has 3 whites and 2 blues. Opinions?

Noone?
Well, my plan is to move my gbta to this tank for my pair of black and white clowns. I was hoping that the ecoxotic par 38 bulb would be enough light for it. Or maybe two of them. I have read in a couple places that one should be enough for a 10g, but I was wondering about the anemone. I know nothing about leds, and anyone who would know please chime in. Thanks.

I think one bulb should be fine for a 10 gallon.

Thanks Krista. I PM'd several people and decided I am gonna get it. I am actually gonna buy one to start and see how it does. I will prob. add another one later on when I add the anemone. I was just trying to decide which one. I guess I will go with the 20k look. :)

Ya know, I went to the website to order it, and I might of changed my mind. What do you guys think of the ecoxotic panorama pro led modules. You can link them even with the old stunner strips. I think I might get more coverage with one of these v/s the par bulb. They also have a new one out now that has a remote control and you can change the color combo in 16 different ways, and even do a fade out with it. It has 12 leds per strip, 19 watts. The pro comes in 12k with 445 blue, 12k white, etc. Now I dunno what to get lol. I just want a plug and play for this little 10g. I am not one to DIY. Any info????

Well, this tank is gonna be upgraded to a 20g tall I bought today. Ordering leds for it. Whoohoo. Clowns are together. I know it was a little soon, but I am impatient. They paired up immediately. Pics later. :)

WooHoo! New build thread!
Can't wait to see what you come up with for your 20g tall build. I have a 20 tall as well and I am looking into changing my lights soon. I was wanting to go with LEDs but I don't know what to look for, really. I'm anxious to see what you can come up with and I might consider getting it myself. :D

Yeah, I had a choice between 20g tall vs 20g long. I figured it would be more room for the pair of clowns. Need to buy my stand. I might get it drilled and use the 10g as a refugium. If not, I will mod a aquaclear filter to be one as well as a filter. I have looked at the par 38 bulb, ecoxotic pro modules and stunner strips. It seems like you have to place the par 38 pretty high up to get good coverage, but I believe you loose par. I am leaning towards the modules, so I can mount them in my existing t5 fixture, under the reflectors if this is possible. Maybe add one stunner strip in the blue. I need to research first.

I was considering going with t5s and ecoexotic panoramas. Maybe retrofit the led strips to my existing t5 unit and change the brand bulbs I am using. I looked into those par38 bulbs too and they do work, but the coverage, like you said, does suck. Unless you can find some with 80d lenses. Then they are hard to mount. Believe it or not - I found a few different types of par38 and 30 bulbs at Walmart in the color ranges for fish. No actinics yet though.

Really, you found some at walmart? That would be good. I still like the idea of adding the leds to my existing fixture. I think it would make things nice and neat. I like the ati t5 bulbs. I was planning on using all leds though. Think its possible to mount the modules in a t5 fixure under the reflectors? I heard a few good things about the stunner strips and the ecoxotic pro modules. Have you seen the new ones that you can change the color with a remote? It is the ecoxotic pro rgb module.

Picked up this little guy yesterday too. Did another 5g water change, and added some snails. Everything is good for now. For now.....LOL..

Thanks Slice. It is empty except for what you see in pics. Or I would lol. It will be taken down as soon as I get the 20g ready. So, I won't be doing anything special with it. I am trying to decide on the lights. I actually think I am gonna go with the 453nm blue stunner strip and add one or two pro modules in the long run. For now though, I still have the t5's running.

Alright, after measuring the inside of my light fixture, I have come to the conclusion that I cannot easily place a stunner strip into it. The stunner strip is approx 24.5in long, and the spot I wanted it to go is only 20 1/4. I have read several reviews on the new ecoxotic pro led modules, and have decided on those. I can mount 4 easy enough. With these newer models, if you use the reflectors, the output is supposed to be pretty good. Add a rgb module, and you can play around with the look. Might be something to do later on. For now though, I am gonna order the 12k with 445nm blue. I will test them out on the 10g first to see how I like them, and order more from there. They are supposed to add a shimmer effect too. Snake, read this. http://reefbuilders.com/2011/08/09/panorama-pro-led-2/ They don't sound too bad for the money. I am not a DIY like you guys are, so I am looking for simple plug and play without breaking the bank lol.

Ok, since I would probably be spending the same amt of money in the long run, I have come across a different fixture. A SWC xtreme cree led 60watt fixture. Looks good for the money. Comes with a dimmer and seperate cords for the blues and whites they are 3watts each... still researching though....
