Well, it is a new set up and I was a little skeptical about adding sps just yet. As far as the fishies...why cant I have a bicolor and a clown? Too much of a bio load for this little tank?

Well, I just got back from the local pet store. They just sold their bicolor blenny
So, I grabbed a little perc. clown for now. I already acclim. him but cant get a pic...he's hiding. As far as the 75 g. I have to be careful of what I add. In the past year the tang has killed three new additions and the royal gramma I added a couple months ago killed my purple firefish! But yes I would like two or three blue or green chromis in there

do you currently have the 2 bulb fixture? or the 4 bulb?
the sps will struggle with the 2 bulb fixture but you can get by with monit's
also, try to get the ati bulbs if you get the aquablue special because it puts out higher par.

Acroporas will brown out under the 2 bulbs. the monti's will be good along with birds nest. if i'm not mistakened you also got the 18" fixture which the bulbs are not exactly strong. Stronger than PC's but still not enough for acroporas. I do know someone that had a couple of acroporas that kept somewhat of their color but never grew fast or got their true colors. Their monti's were perfectly fine though. Also the 18" bulbs right now are still exclusively Current's that dont put out the great par numbers that you see with other t5 brands. However there will be t5vho's coming out in the 18" form very soon. I do not know what kind of numbers these will be putting out but the way its being hyped up seems like the bulbs will be very good. Current is still developing newer colors also. If you dont mind me asking nissan, how much did the fixture cost? If you still can, you should really consider the par38 bulbs

i paid $57.00
i got this cause the PC i was gonna get were 61.99 so i rather go with the t5.
this is the specs on them:
Brilliant, T-5 fluorescent aquarium light fixtures with enhanced light reflectors
* Specially-designed reflectors redirect 20% more light into your aquarium than older Nova models
* Energy-efficient light fixture for aquariums with higher light requirements
Innovative reflector design maximizes T-5 light output. The popular Nova Extreme T-5 Fixtures are now enhanced with a contoured single lamp reflector (SLR). A single polished reflector is specially formed to cradle each individual lamp to direct over 99% of the T-5 lighting into the aquarium. Low-profile fixtures measure only 2” high. Features energy-efficient electronic ballast, integrated cooling fan (select 4 lamp models only), docking mounts, and a protective splash lens. Includes T-5 HO lamps.
im sorry to say this but not all the acros will turn brown. i have seen many people with nice acros with PC lighting. and with 2 bulb t5. so it really depends on the reefer on he/she takes care of the tank

most acros will turn brown no matter how you look at it. if you want to keep acroporas super succesfully aim for the deepwater acros. Theres not very many cases that have been able to keep the colors as vibrant as they should. even if a tank is taken cared of, its really hard to attain the colors that i have in mind. i can use just two of my bulbs and can guarantee that my green slimer will be green but not as green as i'd like.
