Bored Tonight - Sharing pictures of baby Cichlids

As the title says, here are a few pictures of Mama and baby - there are three fry altogether. Thought I would share.

No meowzer these are neet fish, they actually herd them around in their mouths - bring them to protection. They also chew up food and spit it back out to them.

LOl..I know...I have cichlids....and have had MANY A BROOD....haha,.....the mama is okay......it's the rest of the pack you have to watch out for
did you separate the mama and fry???

Yes I did, Mom and Dad are both with them

And Dad is not trying to eat them???

Nope - he herds them around as well. These are the only Cichlids I have.

LOL...at one point I had hundreds.....this was before SW.....I kept on setting up fw tanks....I had 3 in my bedroom

and that is why I started the 29G in the "fish" room...LOL
I kept giving them to my mom-in-law (she kills fish) finally I got rid of a bunch, and got all the tanks out of my bedroom......then I just had to stop separating them...Now I just have the 46G with 3 cichlids in it

LOL...but a baby anything is cute, and it is a very cute picture.

Nice! I think it is neat to watch the mom and dad heard/protect their young.

Right now I have them in a 5 gallon, doing water changes every second day, I am going to set up a 20 long just for them.
