Bottom Seal & Salt Residue?

I have a 90 gal Oceanic Bow front that is about 2 years old (maybe a little over). I bought it new and it has never been moved (other than bringing it home).
For about the last 6 months I have noticed salt residue occasionally around the bottom of the tank (actually the black plastic strip around the bottom.
I noticed at some point as well that if I press on the black plastic strip or tap it with my hand that water splashes (may not be the best word) out. I am assuing due to my hand pressing the plastic against the glass.
My question is.....is this normal? It has NEVER leaked over or anything like that....meaning onto the floor, etc. There is just salt residue on one side or another about 2-3 inches high and about 3-4 wide.....happens about every 30 days or so.
I am scared and think that my bottom seal is leaking? I keep thinking though that if the seal was leaking then the water would just keep coming....and not stop....like it seems to do now. I am hoping this is a normal occurance of the tank. I am trying to see if there is any splash over as well that could be running down the sides, etc.....but you would think that the glass would be foggy from that (on the outside).
The tank sets on the stand it was sold with (Oceanic).....and is level.
Am I making to much of this? I sure hope so......all I need is for something else to go wrong :nervous:
I have learned a lot of the last 2 years reading and asking questions on here.
I really appreciate the assistance and opinions!!!

As for the salt creep, that's normal. But the actual water, that's wierd. If it's not condensation then I think you have cause for concern. Nothing is splashing it over?? No drip marks running down the glass??
Even in the back? No overspray or something like that??
It's wierd to have actual water there.
If your tank is on a stand, can you look at the "ceiling" part of the stand and see if there is any water damage or even if the material has warped...

Thank you for the reply.
I agree that water has me worried. I cannot find any place that water is coming over, etc.
The stand is dry......not warped (just looked).
If this really is leaking, this is going to be a pain. I believe that my tank is guranteed for 5 years (the good part).....but what about the huge mess that it is going to cause (not to mention the time) that it is going to take to move everything. I live in Ardmore OK so the closest LFS is about 95 miles away.
I know that things could be much worse......the bottom seal could let loose as I have read on here. I am just not looking forward to chaning tanks (if needed).
Has anyone else had the same issue I am having.
Again, thanks for the replies!!

Is this a common problem with oceanic?
Let me tell you , when you pop a botom seal, it is a real mess, pain in the butt, mad scramble and expensive loss. I am reconsidering my decision of taking the warranty of a replacement tank, but then i couldn't sell it to someone i liked. This has been a very negative experience for me and my family.
