Wow, congrats on the new house. It's a great feeling because you can do whatever you want and the security of owning a home is well worth it.
60k, I can't even imagine, 60k around here would get you run down hotel room with direct access to "Crack Alley". It's amazing how property values vary, 60k would cover 1/3 the cost of just our lot that our house was built on, if we tossed in another 5k it would cover our tile and carpet.....Wow, I wana sell this house and purchase in your neighborhood

Crack alley, thats funny. I know what you mean though, when I heard the price I was being a wiseacre and asked the realestate lady if it was in a good neighborhood thinking "our neighbors are going to be running a methlab or something" she was dead serious and said yes its a great neighbor hood, right next to a school, well thankfully there wont be a meth lab nextdoor.

my property is actully two lots, so in theory I could split it and sell half but then I would lose my garage, there is about as much chance of that ever happening as there is of using blastomusa as carpet in the living room.....

WOW...i just about fell out of my seat when i saw this....i lived in a house up north that was exactly like this. i dont know how the rest of your bathroom looks like, but my was set up like this, with the sink behind where your standing to take the picture. when i remodeled i found it cheaper to just make the short shower into just a tub with no shower....then rip the sink off the wall (which is right behind you) and put in a nice stand up shower, with the sink on the wall youll need to build to enclose the shower. turned out pretty nice. ill look to see if ive got and pics from that.
