Bought a used skimmer for my curing tank: Help Please

Ok, it's a used skimmer, normal setup with a Venturi 'valve' thing. I've got a Maxijet 1200 powerhead as a pump for it. How do I set up the Venturi valve so it starts making bubbles? How quickly should it be making bubbles? I'm turning the little screw and I can't get it to start bubbling. Thanks for your time.

I'm don't know about that spacific skimmer. Take off the air line for the ph and make sure it is not cloged up with something.

I thought there wsn't supposed to be any airline hooked up to the powerhead or the skimmer. Isn't that what the Venturi 'thingie' is for? Right now I just have the powerhead hooked up to the input of the skimmer. I probably don't have enough gph going through there. Any other thoughts?
