Boxer Crab!! (Pom Pom)

I got my Boxer Crab today! I'm really excited.
He just went in.
He's about an inch long.
My LFS doesn't usually carry them, and I have NO clue how I spotted him. It was hiding on the underside of a rock.
So cool. He's already waving his "anemones" in the air.
Anyone have these? pictures, info, or funny stories?

I'm excited if ya'll can't tell

lol i miss mine (im assuming hes dead since i havent seen him for a month now) he was enjoyable in the bag and for about the other 10 seconds that i saw him poking out. unfortunately they hide like theyre in the witness protection program. good luck with urs though.

Mine has been chilling out right in front for the past, almost 20 minutes.
Looks like he has hunkered down and found his 'spot' for the night

He's has been hiding under my xenia rock today. I hope he doesn't stay there forever. :-/
Last night when the moon lights were on, he was waving his 'pom poms' in the air like he was 'boxing' (hah) It was really cool!

My Boxer crab molted and I thought it was him!

It is whiter, and more pale orange. But it is right in front.
Its really cool!

I love my pom pom crab! I've had him since February, and he went along with the move from a 14 gal to a 29 gal. He stays pretty well hidden for the most part, but when it's feeding time, he comes out from hiding and he and my fire shrimp can get into some pretty intense fighting over some of that food! He's an aggressive little booger! Lots of personality!

I have one, he is hysterical.... I used to only see him like once a month but I downsized to a nano and he has been more social since then... maybe he feels the tank is 'more his size' haha!

I've made that mistake a couple times, too.
I thought it was dead, but then I saw it in its usual hiding spot.
However, I USED to have two boxer crabs, so one time, sadly, the freak out was merited

On that note, my sally lightfoot molted for the first time last night.
When I came out to get somethin to drink at about 4 am I turned on the light in the living room and saw the pale body upside down and almost got really upset again

When they molt do they loose there anemones or do they still grow with the molt?

when they molt they set them down and pick them back up when theyre done.

I read somewhere that they drop them, molt, then pick them back up.

I hate molts. Lol
they freak me out, because first instinct is.. "It'sdead!!"
I do know that one of my Blue leg hermits died though, and I cannot find the other one.

I am down to 2 hermits instead of 5 now

Ohhh I love my little boxer. He is so cute. I like to watch him fight with the hermits for the pellets of food they spot, he karate chops or shoves them until they move.
